An alien virus was discovered in 1947. The point of origin was determined to be in Corona, New Mexico, USA.

Corona, New Mexico, USA—is a town in Lincoln County, New Mexico, in the United States. It’s located on U.S. Route 54.[1]
A sweep of the Corona area was conducted in the summer of 1947, under the authority of the AEC.
The SED were deployed to conduct the sweep. They may have gone into the next county of Torrance, just north of Corona since the town lies on the border.
The sweep revealed the discovery of containers roughly 5-feet long by 1.5-feet wide. There may have been as many as five containers.
When some of the SED personnel came in contact with the containers they had suffered severe reactions. One technician was so overcomed that he collasped.
A medical technician went into a coma four hours after being exposed to an open container.
Up to four SED personnel who experienced noticeable symptoms were rushed to Los Alamos for observation. All four later died of seizures and profuse bleeding. All personnel on site were reportedly wearing protective suits.
Autopsies on the four dead SED technicians were not conclusive at Los Alamos. It was believed that the four suffered from some form of toxin or a highly contagious desease. Tissue samples were sent to Camp Detrick, Md.
In the opinion of the senior AEC medical officer, current medical equipment and supplies were wholly inadequate in dealing with a large scale outbreak of the “alien virus”. Facilities at Los Alamos and Mayo Clinics were considered as lacking in the current climate.[2]
